ShopPop (previously known as I AM POP) is an Amsterdam based startup that is developing a messaging tool for small businesses to create conversational user experiences for marketing, customer service and retail purposes. From 2019 on the startup has been hard at work pivoting their main clients from music labels to ecommerce stores.
Most of my work at ShopPop has gone into researching and designing new features to integrate our product seamlessly into ecommerce stores. Down below I highlighted some of the main projects I have worked on in the last couple of years.
The Commerce dashboard is where all the commerce specific features can be found. in this dashboard users can connect their Shopify store and enable different kind of features like being able to send reminders when customers leave their cart abandoned, send receipts via Messenger after completed purchases and sending notifications when a product is back in stock.
After the release of our first commerce features we found in the statistics that the retention in the install journey was unusually low. The feedback we managed to gather from our customers pointed at the fact that it was unclear to them what added value ShopPop could bring to their store.
To improve the retention we developed an onboarding flow that shows when a users connects their store to the App. The onboarding gives the user a quick run-through of all the commerce features that can be found after installing the App. After the deployment of this release we noticed a significant improvement.
I designed these different widgets that can start conversations with the store's chat-bot. These widgets vary in sizes and placement to accommodate for the different uses stores might have for them.
Currently only the bigger pop-over widget (On the far right) is in production. The rest are planned for development.
The flow editor where users can make pre-written conversations for chat-bots is one of the oldest parts of the ShopPop platform, and it's starting to show it's age. I was tasked to create a more modern looking editor that is more equipt to clearly show all the components we have added in the last couple of years without making it too overwhelming for the users.
